Approach
Lovell Burton is an architecture studio that works nationally across a wide array of typologies and scale, including residential, commercial, cultural and interiors.
As practitioners, we are dedicated to shaping projects that are highly responsive to people, the environment, and with fiscal discipline that is accessible to many. We find opportunities for the extraordinary in the ordinary and we consider limited budgets and other challenges as an invitation for arriving at new ways of thinking and doing. We do this by embracing a multi-disciplinary approach, working closely with engineers, landscape, makers and emerging technologies to drive intelligent innovation into design solutions.
Our design ethos is optimistic. We believe that a considered physical framework will reinforce the quality of being at home in the world, creating space to celebrate life, relationships, stories and the richness of our shared environments. That architecture has the potential to repair and mend as well as inspire and be wholly life-enhancing.

Sustainability
We view sustainable design holistically, embedding responsible material selection and energy efficiency within a broader ecological context. Our design approach is intrinsically linked to the landscape, focusing on creating meaningful connections between built environments and the natural world. From initial site selection through to building services, envelope, and landscape design, we integrate passive environmental design principles that minimise environmental impact while enhancing human experience.
On Country
Lovell Burton acknowledges and pays respect to the Traditional Custodians of the lands upon which our studio is located – the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung of the Kulin Nation, as well as Traditional Custodians of the lands throughout Australia on which we live, work and practice. We pay our respects to Elders and Ancestors of these lands and acknowledge that their sovereignty has never been ceded.
